THE DEVIL'S MOUTH Vol. 100 special: Aaron Stainthorpe talks about 'Tired Of Tears'.
Our podcast reaches 100 episodes and we got a few nice people lined up to celebrate with us.
Hey everyone! Normal writing programme will resume soon, but today just a quick note to say thank you to everyone who has supported our podcast along the way. We’re now at episode #100 and we’ll celebrate that little landmark throughout the week with a lovely selection of a few artists who have done the Ten Rounds before. We asked them to pick one of their own songs this time and just talk a bit about it and why it’s special to them.
First up, we have Aaron Stainthorpe, who really doesn't need any introductions. The My Dying Bride vocalist was a guest on episode #26, and just the fact that he graced us with his presence on a very early stage of the show where we didn’t have nearly as much listeners as we do now is typical of his kindness and availability. Here’s a TDM trivia bit - despite our enormous growth in the months that have passed since, his is still the most played episode in the history of the show.
So Aaron kicks off our #100 celebrations in the best possible way - with a raw, honest and very emotional explanation of why 'Tired Of Tears', from the band's latest album 'The Ghost Of Orion', means so much to him, at the same time offering a priceless insight into the terrible times that preceded that landmark release.
These episodes will be available on all usual platforms besides our usual Mixcloud home, and you can listen directly from here too:
Keep an eye out for more surprises this week!
