Welcome once more to our one douchey subscribers-only feature. As a reminder, we started this thing a month ago or so, and it’ll be a regular thing where I’ll be offering a few choice picks from the vast and often unexplored depths of that great online depository of music that is Bandcamp. Go read Vol. 1 now if you haven’t yet, to note down all those weird things that probably have escaped you, and then proceed to this new batch. And you know what, let’s make it a themed one - this time, perhaps inspired by the recent surge in the quality of the noise rock world, obviously led by the return of The Jesus Lizard and the continuing excellence of Human Impact - both of which featured in the recent Top Albums of 2024 list we ran - I picked three bands who released fantastic albums in the middle of the pandemic that were somehow overlooked, and haven’t followed them up since. See it as a “come on, guys” kinda poke to them. Not many people were listening back then, but some were, and we miss you.
If this is where the feature ends for you, go on, it’s just five bucks a month. And hey, if you subscribe anually, not only can you read this, but you save money and you even get that sweet exclusive tote bag for free too. Go on, treat yourself. (also don’t forget you can have a free trial if you’re a free subscriber - go ahead and use it now to see what you are-n’t? missing!)
