THE DEVIL'S MOUTH Vol. 100 special: Eugene S. Robinson talks about 'The Stabbing Hand'.
Our podcast reaches 100 episodes and we got a few nice people lined up to celebrate with us.
You know the drill by now - most of this week will be filled with these little snippets that signal episode #100 of our podcast (though look out for a couple of our regular features slipping through as well!). We asked some of our past guests to pick one of their own songs this time and just talk a bit about it and why it’s special to them. First up we had My Dying Bride’s Aaron Stainthorpe yesterday, with a very honest and moving account of what was behind ‘Tired Of Tears’ from the band’s latest album ‘The Ghost Of Orion’, and now it’s time to go back to 1995, to a little record called ‘Let Me Be A Woman’…
That’s right, the great Eugene S. Robinson, frontman for the legendary Oxbow and the currently on fire Buñuel too, as well as a renowned writer and actor and a bunch of other things, and a guest on episode #18 of the podcast (another really early supporter - thank you, Eugene!), has a short but oh so sweet tale about the song ‘The Stabbing Hand’. Let’s just say you’re in for a hell of a ride with this one.
Incidentally, Eugene has a Substack himself which I heavily recommend you check out, he was part of the inspiration which led me to start this whole thing.
These episodes will be available on all usual platforms besides our usual Mixcloud home, and you can listen directly from here too:
