The first time Ian Glasper had something published in Terrorizer magazine was on issue #3. Nope, no numbers missing there. December 1993. From then on, until the very bitter end in June 2018, issue #287, he was present in every single issue. A legendary writer on a legendary magazine, and all the interviews - many of them highly memorable, like that awkwardly fascinating war of words with Jaz Coleman… - have even been compiled on a book Ian released recently, ‘Terrorized, The Collected Interviews’.

Of course, it helps that he’s also written a whole bunch of other books - including ‘Burning Britain’ (2003), ‘The Day The Country Died: A History Of Anarcho Punk 1980 – 1984’ (2006), ‘Trapped In A Scene: UK Hardcore 1985 – 1989’ (2009), ‘Armed With Anger: How UK Punk Survived The Nineties’ (2012), ‘Contract In Blood: A History of UK Thrash’ (2018), ‘The Scene That Would Not Die: Twenty Years of Post-Millennial Punk In The UK’ (2020) -, written for a bunch of other magazines and also played in a whole bunch of awesome bands, including Stampin’ Ground, Flux Of Pink Indians or Warwound. He’s currently making his bass rumble for the amazing Zero Again, which you should totally check out if Rudimentary Peni, early Neurosis, Killing Joke or Dead Kennedys mean anything to you. Ian has a new book on pre-order, ‘Silence Is No Reaction: Forty Years of Subhumans’, his first about a specific band (and what a band!), and of course we talked a bit about that, but with a musical brain of this capacity, conversation naturally flowed all over the place, including hearing Ian’s wisdom about the ten cracking songs he picked for the Ten Rounds. Kind of a no-brainer to have him on the show, wasn’t it?
