THE DEVIL'S MOUTH Vol. 153: ten rounds with Denisa
One of our current favourite artists finally gets on the infamous ten rounds.

We warned you a few months ago that she was going to become huge, didn’t we? Less than a year has passed, she doesn’t even have her new album out - and ‘St. Bernadette’ is getting a reissue on Deathwish inc. soon too -, but Denisa has been slowly conquering hearts and minds on the strength of her existing music and performances alone. Her first European tour was an absolute triumph, culminating in a Roadburn appearance that, quite frankly, totally stole the show that day, even if it was on the smaller, more intimate Hall of Fame stage.
It was therefore an absolute pleasure to catch up with this immensely talented young woman, to sort of close the ‘St. Bernadette’ (her first “dark” album, a brilliant piece that got her the European tour, the Roadburn appearance and the Deathwish inc. deal, in case you’re just now joining the Denisa appreciation circle) cycle and also to get to know her a little better. After these ten rounds, and listening to her tales of how she discovered several kinds of music both new and old, her motivations and thoughts on the music she loves and on her own work too, it really becomes clear how she has reached this level so soon. There is an unmistakably unique voice - both figuratively and literally - at work here, an old soul with a lot of stuff to get out of her chest, and we are privileged to have gotten on the ground floor with her. It’ll be wonderful to watch Denisa grow and to enjoy her future albums for sure.
So tune in now and enjoy a very cool conversation we had with Denisa by clicking on any of the pics above or right here.
